3D Sculpts

Here you can find my 3D models: a variety of high - poly sculpts and low - poly. I try to perfect my skills alongside the largely expanding and ever changing 3D industry, learning new software as I go. It's a dream of mine to one day become a successful 3D artist!

3D Isometric Room

Part of the 2019 GGJ (UWE, Bristol, The Foundry)
Low Poly 3D Room
For another year I have joined GGJ to make a game in 48 hours.
The above video is a rendered in Arnold 3D low - poly room made in Autodesk Maya. The assets inside are game-ready and hand - textured with royalty free images ( taken from https://freestocktextures.com/ , the wallpaper is from https://wallpaper-gallery.net/single/floral-background-wallpapers-16.html and https://www.joann.com/petit-floral-trail-wallpaper-border-pearl/13720107.html ).

The actual room from above was made in 4 days after GGJ but the armchair, the TV Stand with the TV, the vase, the cupboard and a lamp (not shown in the render but in the game) were made in the 48 hour constrain alongside a 3D modeled car and the enemies for the game which can be seen inside the game - the party goers, the mouse and the thief. (plus a randomly stabbed in the table knife)

After GGJ I took my model a notch further, made a room to put them in, modeled some additional furniture, textured it and rendered a turnaround.

Exported and block colored, the model was also uploaded on my SketchFab account.

A playthrough of our game can be seen on the side.

3D Isometric Room by Vasilena Kavanozova on Sketchfab

This year the theme was 'What home means to you' ! With a group of 5 enthusiastic and talented folk we gathered together and came up with this tower defense type of game. The idea behind it  is that you (the character) want to defend your home against pests such as party goers, mice and burglars (who ride in tiny cars!) and by doing so you put down different 'towers' in the designated places (or in our case dirty laundry and bug sprays) that eventually kill off the enemies and earn you money. The end goal is to have earned enough money to pass the level, with the required number being shown in the top right corner. Each tower costs money but each kill rewards you with cash, too. Currently there are 5 waves of enemies.
Alas, in the tradition of every global game jam, everything crashed the very last minute and a few bugs appeared in the game (as you can see from the playthrough). It was going really well until the last final minutes of the 48 hour time restriction.

As for my role in the making of this game: I did 3D modeling and texturing in Autodesk Maya and prepared it for Unity. My 3D assets are game-ready. Unfortunately due to time constrains not every one of them was exhibited. Not all the 3D assets in the game shown are mine as well. The different enemies in cars and part of the furniture is what I worked on.
*As with any project I put my hands on, this room has a rich and dramatic story surrounding its making. To read more about the dark secrets behind this seemingly peaceful environment, please read more about it on my BLOG page*

Zbrush Character Sculpt

The Whisper Creature

The Whisper Creature is part of a series of characters that live in the same universe. Alongside the Daughter of the Crows, the Whisper Creature shares the same dark and gloomy world. With an elaborate past and intriguing but horrifying back story this model came to be as part of my final year course. All produced in Zbrush, the creature is modeled, textured, groomed and rendered with it being later on 3D printed as well.

'The Whisper Creature'

The Whisper Creature is as old as the universe itself. They were the first inhabitants of the mother planet (Earth) and have since survived on the blood of all living. They've evolved with time and have developed a special 'all-human' diet ever since the monkeys came down from the trees and started to walk on two feet. Luring their victims with a specific whisper technique. However there is a way to kill those ancient creatures and that is to make a small cut on the right side of their tongue. The whisper will then stop and the 'monster killing machines' will become a harmless walking shadow.
With slender and pale long limbs and a body covered in short dirty hair the Whisper Creature is know to hunt in the dark and most of the time wait for the little children who easily get lost in the woods.
The killing machine can grow up to 17 feet tall with a jaw size being 6 feet tall and 4 feet across.
The only thing that scares these massive creatures are crows. Many legends suggest that crows are the descends of gods and thus the hell creatures fear them.

3D Low Poly Wolf Model

Wolf project
This 3D wolf was created in my 1st year of animation studies in university as part of a project I was asked to work on. This is my first ever 3D model and it is built in Autodesk Maya.
The project was of a 3rd year filmmaking student from UWE and she had asked me to make a low poly wolf for her 'Endangered Wildlife' 3D mapping showcase.
Later on, in second year of my course, I opened the file so that I could properly export it and render it, to be able to upload it on my website. However the file got corrupted and all I could save was a render, which was done with the help of Harry Dawson.
In 3rd year, I managed to restore the file, I retopologized it with better topology, re-rendered and exported it. I had seen all my mistakes from when I was in 1st year and have seen how much my modelling has improved. There are no more secret faces or sticking out edges!

Global Game Jam (GGJ) 2018 Bristol, UK

I participated in the annual Global Game Jam in Bristol, UK 2018 as part of a 5 person team to make a game in 48 hours!
I did all the modeling for our game called 'Mucus Man'.

The characters above are made in Autodesk Maya from scratch, rigged, textured and animated by me. Top left is the animated and rendered walk cycle of both characters and top right is a 3D view of the model and a short ''protect from incoming attacks'' animation.
Due to being pressured by time, the animations and the topology is not perfect. On a similar note, on the left is a video that was supposed to be put in the beginning of the game as an intro but we ran out of time and it was left out.
All in all, GGJ was a good learning experience (I understood how to transport models, animations and textures from Maya to Unity and what the significance in 'baking' was) and I met quite a few nice people!
